The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers have criticised the procedure adopted by the Electoral Commission for exhibiting the biometric voters register.
According to CODEO, the procedure is too restrictive and may discourage voters from participating in the exercise which will run till September 10.
CODEO’s remarks followed reports that the exercise has received an abysmally low patronage at various centres all over the country.
The National Coordinator of CODEO, John Larvie told Joy News that the exhibition procedure must be reviewed to encourage more participation.
According to him, the EC should rather display the register on a board at the centres so that voters can personally crosscheck their details without having to go through the exhibition official whose duty then will be to address complaints.
