Government and Hospital Pharmacists (GHOSPA) have embarked on an indefinite strike in protest of the delay in their migration onto the Single Spine Pay Policy.
GHOSPA’s decision comes after Monday’s negotiations with Health Minister Alban Bagbin stalled.
Joy News has also learnt the meeting which run deep into the night concluded without any concrete agreement.
Deputy Health Minister, Rojo Mettle Nunoo, told JoyNews contrary to the GHOSPA’s claims, the government has done a lot to address challenges surrounding their migration onto the new pay policy.
The Deputy Health Minister also said the demands being made by the striking medical consultants at the Komfo Anokye Hospital, Kumasi are not valid since those allowances the consultants are demanding were never authorized by the current government.
