Madam Abena Kwalla, the former Western Regional Women's Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Monday donated 40 plastic chairs to the Western Regional secretariat of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) at Takoradi.Madam Kwalla said the role of the media was vital for the success and development of the country and therefore decided to support them achieve some of their aims.She said no organisation, institution or political party could succeed without the media's support and called on all stakeholders to support the media in the discharge of their duties.Madam Kwalla said the Western Press Centre was a novel idea and should be supported by all.Receiving it Mr. George A. Naykene, Western Regional Chairman of the GJA, thanked Madam Kwalla for her support for the Press Centre.He said the donation would facilitate the indoor and outdoor activities of the association and also enhance more social interaction among journalists.Mr. Naykene said the Press Centre would be equipped with facilities to make it media friendly and facilitate the work of journalists.He appealed to stakeholders to support the GJA to achieve its aims.Source: GNA
