Former President Jerry John Rawlings is expected to join scores of world leaders in South Korea to attend the funeral service of Founder of Unification Church, Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, whose death was announced last Monday September 3, 2012.Funeral and burial services for the world acclaimed Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon who died at age 92, would be has been scheduled for September 15th 2012 at Mt. Cheonseong, Songsan-ri, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.The list of high profiled guests also includes former presidents from African and other parts of the world.The late Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and his wife visited Ghana in November 1995 during a world tour, where he spoke to the Public at the International Conference Centre in Accra on the need for world peace through Ideal Families.He paid a courtesy call on the then Head of State Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings.The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) which is a global network of individuals and organizations dedicated to building a world of peace, centered on universal spiritual and moral values co-founded by the reverend Moon is vibrant in Ghana.
Rev. Moon has lived his whole life with the motto of “World Peace and Salvation of humankind.”He founded the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity in 1954 and made it a world level religion by dispatching missionaries to 194 nations.He also professed his vision of World Peace and the Salvation of humankind. He lived with vigor and vitality in many ways unfathomable to the average person.
He was imprisoned six times in Japan, North Korea, South Korea and the USA. Although he was rejected in large part by the vested right, the world paid attention to him.Rev. Moon maintained international relevance through professing his vision and life course to humanity, who battled with confusion that came with the absence of values and religious conflicts that occurred throughout the history of civilization.
