A pro-NDC group calling itself John and John 2012 is calling for investigation into the leaked tape involving party National Organizer, Yaw Boateng Gyan.
The NDC official is captured on the tape plotting to recruit NDC supporters to infiltrate the National Security apparatus.
Despite widespread condemnation, some NDC members have sought to rubbish calls for an investigation, citing similar statements bordering on national security by opposition elements.
Addressing a press conference in Kumasi, Public Relations Officer of the group, Abdul Majeed Musah says a thorough enquiry will save NDC’s image.
Meanwhile, the group is calling for immediate reinstatement of suspended party Deputy General Secretary, Kofi Adams.
Party Founder and former President Rawlings’ Spokesman was sanctioned over a leaked tape in which he was captured allegedly plotting NDC’s defeat in the December elections.
Mr. Majeed Musah however believes Mr. Adams has more than enough to contribute to the party’s electoral fortunes.
Members say it has taken the party too long to take a firm decision on his status which will help resolve perceived animosity within the NDC.
They want national executives to come out with effective election programmes, including conciliatory initiatives, to ensure a first round victory.
