Gecab healthcare limited, in conjunction with their global partners - Carestream health USA, has organised a digital radiography workshop for a section of radiologists, radiographers and other allied healthcare professionals in the Accra - Tema metropolis.Other participants included administrators and directors of healthcare facilities.The seminar detailed contemporary trends in digital radiography and it's positive impact on healthcare outcomes.Speaking at the seminar, Dr Vincent Hewlett, a radiologist at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital reiterated the clinical benefits of digital radiography and its positive impacts on healthcare outcomes.With digitisation there is improved efficiency and effectiveness of radiography and optimised diagnosis. Instead of a number of separate instruments requiring the processing of disparate films, the new equipment will undertake a number of functions at the same.Properly deployed, it would help to save many lives at accident scenes, as the attending health worker would quickly x’ray victims to find the extent of damage, and this would have a direct input in the kind of care offered such victims.Mr Adupong Isaac, C.E.O of Gecab Healthcare Ltd, reiterated that his company is promoting digital radiography as part of their contribution towards improving healthcare delivery in Ghana.Carestream Health USA introduced their range of digital radiographical solutions which cut across grades of advancements in digital radiography with specific reference to Vita CR and DRX, their flagship digital solutions.
