The Managing Director of Hearts of Oak Mark Noonan says the country's football problems go beyond the investigative documentary by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas on corruption in Ghana football.
In the wake of the exposé, the government of Ghana halted all football activities organised in the country as they initiate steps to dissolve the Ghana Football Association.
Club owners and players are not happy with the recent development and there is no glimmer of hope that football will return anytime soon and this has left the American frustrated.
He has made a passionate appeal to stakeholders to help rescue the game.
He said, "What I see is that we have a fundamentally broken business model."
"As a club when we sell a ticket and the maturity of that ticket is going someplace else as opposed to the club, that's a broken business model."
"And when you are playing games on Wednesday at 3 pm and when a lot of your fans are working, that's a broken business model."
"We need to take control of the business model because like or not, football is a business and all players have agents and our fans have the opportunity to watch matches anywhere in the world right now."
"If we don't realise that and we don't provide a great working atmosphere for our players, if we don't provide facilities and if we don't provide a product for our fans, they are going to take their hard earned money elsewhere and that's the sad part."
