Some domestic airline operators have made alternate arrangements to get their passengers to Kumasi despite the closure of the Kumasi Airport.
The airport was closed to air traffic to make way for repair works on the runway.
The airlines say the move has frustrated their operations. Some however say the incident would not affect their Kumasi-bound flights.
Chief Commercial Officer of ANTRAK AIR, Kweku Antwi Bosiako told Joy News they would first fly passengers destined for Kumasi, to Sunyani and transport them to Kumasi by road.
“Our plan is to take our passengers through Sunyani. You know from Sunyani to Kumasi is just a little over an hour…it is better that way than for people to have to travel on the Accra-Kumasi road which will last four to six hours.
“We are not refunding money, if anybody wants to use the ticket, they can use it later on but they want to go to Kumasi they will have to go through Sunyani at the moment because there is no other alternative,” he stated.
