The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is expected to launch the revised Asante Twi Bible on Sunday October 7, 2012 at the McKweon Temple, Church of Pentecost, Asokwa in the Ashanti Region.
This was disclosed by the General Secretary of the Bible Society of Ghana Erasmus Odonkor at a short briefing with the media.
The revised bible which took about twelve years to conclude is to respond to the changes in meanings of certain words and phrases to make it more acceptable and relevant to contemporary readers.
It is the third in a series of revision done by the Bible Society this year after the Ewe and Akuapem Bibles were duly revised.
According to Erasmus Odonkor, the Asante twi bible is the highest selling local bible, adding the twi bible has been made for all and in different shapes and sizes.
Explaining the new features that come with the bible, Reverend Issifu Dokurugu who is also a Computer Assisted Publishing (CAP) officer said the revised bibles have the red letter editions-the words spoken by Jesus Christ have been captured in red.
The new bibles, he said also have introductions to each chapter which gives a summary of what the chapter is about, headings, footnotes, illustrations as well as cross and parallel references.
