Energy Minister, Dr Oteng Adjei is at the Aboadze Thermal Plant to assess efforts at activating reserve power generation plants to produce more power to ease the ongoing load shedding exercise.
Joy News has learnt the T3 VRA project when completed will add 80 megawatts of power to the national grid.
Western Regional correspondent, Kweku Owusu Peprah who is at the Aboadze Plant in the Western Region reported the T3 project was supposed to contribute 122 megawatts of power to the national grid.
He said with the load shedding exercise currently ongoing, officials of the plant have decided to fast-track work on the project.
The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by the end of October Peprah said.
According to him, officials believe the addition will mitigate the effect of the current load shedding exercise.
The plant is expected to use either crude oil or gas, he reported.
