President John Dramani Mahama on Monday swore into office Justice Yaw Appau, as the Sole-Commissioner of Judgment debt.
This is in fulfillment of President Mahama’s pledge to Ghanaians in his broadcast to the nation to appoint an independent sole commissioner to investigate the judgment debt cases the nation has been confronted with.
The renowned judge of the Court of Appeal will be responsible for probing the numerous cases of judgment debts paid by the government to individuals and multinationals and to advise on the way forward in settling judgment debts.
Justice Yaw Appau who is currently the President of the Magistrates and Judges of Ghana and served in the Ashanti Region, promised to work to meet the desires and expectations of all Ghanaians.
“I promise to work up to the expectation of Ghanaians and justify the confidence President Mahama has reposed in me in this duty,” he said.
