Sheikh Hussein Kassim, Imam of the Gomoa Ankamu circuit of the Muslim community, has exhorted Muslims not to make Ramadan a mere annual ritual by refusing to live by the tenets of the sacrifice and returning to their bad ways.
Speaking to Muslims at an open-air prayers at Ankamu to mark the Eid-ul-Fitr, Sheikh Kassim expressed regret over how some members had taken the Ramadan for granted.
"We must abide by the tenets of the Ramadan not only to derive the blessings of the fasting but to entice people into Islam through our good examples," the Imam said.
Sheikh Kassim who is also the proprietor of Al-Kasmia Islamic School at Gomoa Ankamu advised Muslims to invest in education of their children, saying teaching them to speak Arabic alone without providing them with secular education would not be beneficial for their future development.
"Giving our children good education, both secular and Arabic will go a long way to transform Islam," he noted.
Sheikh Kassim led the congregation to pray for peace and prosperity of the nation.
