A 29-year-old taxi driver, Abass Abubakari, was on Friday remanded by the Tema Circuit Court 'A' for possessing dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
Abubakari, whose plea was not taken, would on November 28 reappear before the court.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Sarah Acquah told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that Abubakari, who was driving a taxi, sped off when police questioned him about the contents of two fertilizer bags in the boot.
He abandoned the taxi when police caught up with him and a search revealed his driver’s license and two big fertilizer bags filled with dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp.
Abubakari was arrested at his Ashaiman residence with the help of the car owner.Source: GNA
