A twelve year old girl had all her five fingers burnt after she ate white clay belonging to her auntie.The victim, name withheld told Joy News’ Upper West Regional correspondent Rafiq Salam that she was sweeping when she saw the white clay lying on the floor and she decided to take some.Her untie, Anatu Ibrahim who is a student of the Wa Campus of the University for Development Studies was said to have been angered by the action of her niece and with the assistance of her neighbor they dragged the 12 year old closer to a blazing fire and forcibly dipped her fingers into it.The victim was rescued by other neighbors who quickly rushed her to the hospital and later reported the incident to the Wa office of Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU).The victim said that was not the first time she had been mistreated by the suspect.Meanwhile, Anatu Ibrahim has denied the allegations against her, saying the victim suffered the bruises on her fingers after a hot porridge accidentally poured on her hand.The Wa DOVVSU says the suspect is on a police enquiry bail and expected to be arraigned before court on charges of harm and child abuse.The victim is now being taken care of by a good Samaritan.
