The Police in Zabzugu in the Northern region have rescued a 14 year old Junior High School pupil, who was allegedly abducted and repeatedly assaulted sexually.
The victim was invited to attend a party at Bulkpali near Tatale where the suspect, John Kabuja offered to adopt her.
However, her sweet dreams turned sour when she later became a sex slave.
Northern Regional Coordinator for the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Police Service, ASP Emmanuel Horlatsu told Martina Bugri of Radio Justice in Tamale that, the suspect is being investigated for abduction and defilement.
According to him, the age of the victim does not permit her to give consent to sexual offers.
ASP Horlatsu further disclosed that the victim is pregnant for which the suspect has accepted responsibility.
Martina noted that, abduction is a common phenomenon at the eastern corridors of the country, with young girls falling victims often.
