The entire Nkawie Nyinamso No1 village was on Friday reported to be in flames, after a fuel tanker overturned and immediately caught fire spreading through the town, in a matter of minutes
Two persons suspected to be the tanker driver and his mate are said to have been burnt beyond recognition, while at least two other vehicles have been burnt in the inferno.
A witness, Yakubu Yusif told Adom News that several houses in the town were in flames leaving the residents with little options to salvage any valuable item.
According to Yusif, the tanker was descending a hill towards the village when the driver lost control of the steering wheel and hit a speed ramp causing it to overturn and later exploding in flames.
Yusif said personnel from the National Fire Service were at the scene to bring the fire under control but they ran out of water.
