One person has been confirmed dead while three persons sustained gunshot injuries in yet another shooting incident in Bawku in the Upper East region.According to Bawku Crime Officer Superintendent Adamu Seidu, the incident happened around 2030hrs at a local gas station when three men armed with AK47 rifles opened fire on an unarmed group of young men.The deceased, according to Superintendant Seidu, was shot in the neck and found dead about fifty metres from the place where he was shot. The three other persons also sustained various degrees of injury as they fled the scene. The attack, according to the Crime Officer, has thrown the town into a state of shock with the security apparatus stepping up their efforts in the area to forestall any reprisal attacks.Bawku Municipal Chief Executive Abdulai Musah told Joy News Tuesday that unlike previous attacks, Monday’s incident occurred out of the blue as no warning signs were received. He stated that an emergency meeting would be held between all stakeholders to ensure culprits of Monday night's incident are brought to book as well as to prevent reprisal attacks.Earlier on Monday, Bawku Police had arrested two out of four suspects in connection with a Sunday shooting that left one man injured.Bawku Divisional Police Commander ACP Kwaku Boadu Prepah reported that while arresting one of the men, 23-year-old Awudu Issaka, alias “Bob,” police retrieved live rifle rounds, which ACP Prepah described as evidence of complicity in the crime.
