An Accra Circuit Court on Tuesday admitted to bail Lewis Afful, a student, who is accused of having anal sex with a 15-year old boy.Afful, 18, pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement and was admitted to a GHȻ10,000.00 bail with two sureties, one should be his father.Mr Joseph Nkrumah, a defence counsel prayed the court to admit Afful to bail adding the allegation was a frame up.According to counsel he was only 17 years and not 18 as suggested by the prosecution.The court presided over by Mr Ebenezer Osei-Darko admitted him to bail saying as student, Afful’s future was paramount.Afful is expected to reappear on January 19.Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant was a teacher and the mother of the victim who lives together with the son resides at Sukura in Accra.On January 7, this year at about 3:30pm, the victim was ironing in a bedroom when Afful entered and forcibly had anal sex with the victim and left.The victim’s mother who was not around when the incident occurred, was informed by a co-tenant of the act.Detective Inspector Atimbire said the victim’s mother reported the matter to the Police at Dansoman where a medical form was issued to the victim for examination and treatment.
