But for the great joy in the Lord
My heart would have been stricken by
The sudden passing away of the great soul of a great legend
In the history of our dear mother Ghana
The cloudy morning beaconed the moody state of our state
Upon the breaking news of the death of this great poet and professor
Would he have been spared of his life if he
Had not been there to visit his beloved son
Or death would have still cast shadows on his fate
Hmm, life has always been mysterious as I have always said
In that, just at a blink of the eye your lots can become your loss
Awww, so neck-breaking and devastating it is
Why are the mighty men falling and which dungeon
Has opened its fury against these giants
Oh great treasure troves are unsealed and the misery of death revealed
Whiles we still battle with dearth and penury
Death and misery stands spiting on our mild faces
Hmm. “Onyame no ara na obekyere’’
Though I never met you in person
Neither did I know you that much
But your books and writings robed my mind with yours
And I have always marveled at your depth of wisdom
I so much admired you whiles you lived
And your sudden transition into glory has dazed me
It is said, whom the gods love die young
In your case, father Abraham has called you for a feast in Heaven
And that is what is keeping the heart of your darling family
And that of your great nation in a harmless state
‘For thou will keep in perfect peace whose mind is on you’
As the Prophet Isaiah declares, Rest peacefully in His armrest
And sooner than later we would break the same bread and drink from the same cup
When we had finally met together as a family once again in Heaven
Damirafa due, Prof.!!may your soul rest in peace.
