The Advertisers Association of Ghana has agreed to suspend a legal suit against the Accra Metropolitan Assembly over what it says are recent exorbitant increases in its levies.
This follows a request by Parliament’s joint committee on Communication and Local Government to settle the matter amicably.
The association took the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to court after it increased what it charges advertisers for outdoor advertising.
Executive Secretary of the AAG Francis Dadzie told Joy Business they look up to Parliament for an amicable solution to the stand-off.
“We have looked at those options and we have suspended action on the law suit whilst Parliament looks into the petition with regards to the increases that has been announced by the AMA.
Asked if the suspension is indefinite retorted; “what is there is that we are just waiting to conclude that with Parliament so when Parliament finishes and does its appropriate recommendation that will inform us as to what happens next.
