Abibitumi has officially launched the Abibitumi Series of Events under the Decade of Our Repatriation (D.O.O.R.) initiative, a campaign aimed at driving the global repatriation movement and strengthening ties between the Black diaspora and the African continent.
The initiative seeks to reconnect people of African descent through storytelling, creativity and shared cultural heritage.
The 2025 edition will feature three major experiences: the Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival (November 28–30, 2025), the Abibitumi Virtual Conference (December 5–7, 2025) and the Abibitumi Conference & Abibifahodie Festival (December 12–14, 2025).
Each event will offer a unique exploration of Black identity and innovation, fusing film, dialogue, music, art and technology in a celebration of homecoming and cultural pride.
“This is more than an event series, it’s a movement of repatriation, a homecoming of spirit and action. When we remember, the Black people throughout the world reconnect,” the organisers said.
D.O.O.R. has invited individuals, partners and media outlets to be part of the experience, encouraging early registration via www.decadeofourrepatriation.com.
Organisers have also opened partnership and sponsorship opportunities. Interested collaborators can reach the Project Director, Siita Abubakari, through press@abibitumi.com for sponsorships and activations.
