Media Reach OMG Ghana, as part of its agenda to infuse technology into the outdoor advertising space, has launched a platform called "Aboten", an initiative it believes will revolutionise the billboard advertising space.
The platform is an outdoor measurement which combines technology, Out-Of-Home expertise and data to address the seeming challenges in the outdoor media buying across Ghana.
The platform is going to be a synergy between clients and advertisers.
Speaking to Joy Business at the event, Head of Tools and Tech at Media Reach OMG Africa, Joe Mbugua said ‘Abonten’ will bring solution to the mundane jobs done manually by outdoor advertisers.
“Abonten gives the clients the luxury of briefing from the system. The brief can also be transferred to the media planner on the system. Then the media planner is actually able to tell based on the inventory that we have from the different media owners; this are the billboards available, this is what you can book, over-laying that with location data”.
“So, basically making sure that, is not time consuming. If you look at outdoor as we speak, is very time-consuming job; my colleagues were talking about doing recce, where you go round scooping billboards with your clients all day. We basically want to go that away” he added.
Abonten makes it easy for buyers/planner to plan, optimise and create market intelligence reports for your out-of-home campaigns. It also comes with ease to view plans by brand and category all at a click of a button.

On his part, Managing Director of Media Reach OMG Ghana, Stephen Onani, said, he was motivated by a desperate client who dared him to come up with a solution to the challenges in the outdoor space. He described the journey of “Abonten” as exciting.
“This journey started when a client put a challenge in front of us and said, how do we manage outdoor and this was like two years ago. So, in two years, we have been able to work with a team from a local perspective which is primary to the regional and global perspective
“If you think about global conversation around automation and technology, this comes to meet that need on the market”, he mentioned.
As part of the event, Media Reach OMG Ghana marked its 15 years anniversary.
Abonten has different features that allows advertisers plan, optimise and create market intelligence reports for out-of-home campaigns just at the click of a button.
