The Access Women Network (AWN) of Access Bank (Ghana) PLC has joined forces with the Bank of Ghana Ladies Association (BoGLA) to organize a market storm at the Accra Central Market as part of activities commemorating Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the 60th Anniversary of the Ghana Cedi.
Themed “Pink Pride: Breast in Bra, Cedi in Purse!”, the initiative brought together hundreds of traders, customers, and market women for a day of breast cancer education and interactive financial literacy sessions designed to enhance their financial well-being and encourage smart money management.
Speaking at the event, the Acting President of the Access Women Network (AWN), Beverlyn Quaynor, commended the collaboration, noting that the initiative embodies the spirit of AWN’s mission to empower women within and beyond the Bank.
“This campaign underscores our dedication to supporting women through advocacy, education, and empowerment. By combining breast cancer awareness with financial literacy, we are equipping women with the tools they need to live healthier, more secure lives,” Ms. Quaynor said.
Head of Women Banking, Roselind Akko, reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to promoting women’s health and economic empowerment as part of its broader sustainability agenda.
“At Access Bank, we understand that empowering women requires a holistic approach that addresses both their health and financial independence. Our collaboration with the Bank of Ghana Ladies Association reflects our belief that when women are healthy and financially confident, communities thrive,” said Ms. Akko.

The market storm featured a lively atmosphere adorned in pink while delivering breast cancer sensitization sessions and financial empowerment sessions on savings, investment, and digital banking solutions tailored for women entrepreneurs in the central business district of Accra.
The collaboration between Access Bank Ghana and BoGLA reinforces the shared commitment to advancing Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3) and Gender Equality (SDG 5) in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
