A tragic accident has claimed the life of 16-year-old Pascaline Adadevoh on the Vakpo-Aneta road in the North Dayi Constituency of the Volta Region.
Pascaline, a recent graduate of Cornerstone Preparatory School and the only child of her mother, was struck by a vehicle transporting political party logistics.
According to local sources, the vehicle involved was carrying items such as party T-shirts and other political materials reportedly meant for distribution in the Oti Region.
The accident has left the small, close-knit village of Aneta enveloped in grief and outrage.
Tensions flared in the community following the incident, and residents attempted to confront the occupants of the vehicle.
However, police intervention prevented any further violence.
In a gesture of sympathy, a police delegation led by the Kpando Divisional Police Commander visited Pascaline's family to offer condolences.
The delegation also included the North Dayi Police Commander and the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) commander from Kpando, who expressed their sympathies to Pascaline's grieving mother.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident as the community mourns the devastating loss of one of its own.
