Abdullah Osman, 37, the motor rider who was critically injured in a road crash at Anhwiaso in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, has died.
Osman was earlier reported to be in critical condition after being knocked down by a speeding Sprinter bus near the Anhwiaso Clinic Junction. He was initially rushed to the Anhwiaso Community Hospital but required urgent referral to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi due to the severity of his injuries.
Sources indicate that delays in securing an ambulance contributed to the deterioration of his condition, ultimately leading to his death.
The accident occurred when the Sprinter bus, allegedly driven at high speed, collided with Osman’s unregistered motorcycle. Police from the Ghana Police Service have launched an investigation into the incident.
Residents have expressed concern over the availability and responsiveness of emergency medical services in the area.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at a local mortuary, while investigations into the crash and the delayed medical transfer continue.
