Ghana’s first large-scale mall, Accra Mall has launched the second edition of its Fashion Weekend at the Accra Mall Food Court from Saturday, August 24 to Sunday, August 25 as part of activities to mark its 10th anniversary.
From now to July 2019, Accra Mall has lined up fashion shows, monthly highlife sessions, Social Media Week, student hopping night and other activities to massively reward loyal customers.
The Fashion Weekend dubbed ‘Beauty Without Standards’ is an exciting two-day line up of panel discussions on a range of health and fashion topics hosted by Lakeshia Marie Ford of Ford Communications and informative and interactive hair and beauty demonstrations by Carols Daughter and Maybelline.
It ends with an amazing runway show hosted by Agnes Ntow featuring all fashion and accessory tenants of Accra Mall as well as guest designers. It’s free.
“August, as Accra Mall’s fashion month, is about showcasing the very best of our fashion retailers. We have partnered with YFM to give daily fashion tips to add to the momentum of Fashion Weekend,” said Denise Asare, Marketing Manager of Accra Mall.
Explaining this year’s theme, Denise said Beauty Without Standards demonstrates Accra Mall’s versatility. “We have carefully choosen plus size, petite and albino models to represent our everyday society. This all-important model representation of our society is underpinned by our belief that everyone is unique and beautiful in his or her own way.”
“Accra Mall Fashion Weekend is sponsored by Carols Daughter and Maybelline. Fashion Weekend was launched with a colourful photoshoot shot by Franklin Gyan Jr. which was shared on social media. We are extremely happy to have these brands on board as they are accessible to the public and have a reasonable price point” the Marketing Manager hinted.
Creative Director Darren ‘Shim’ Ziorkley said “I am very excited to work on the production of Fashion Weekend with the exciting pink colour scheme. Pink represents the joy of a person and looks good on every individual, the runway is going to be magical.”
The Accra Mall, commissioned on July 4th, 2008, is one of the most modern western style shopping centres in West Africa and the first large-scale mall in Ghana.
