The ACI Financial Markets Association Ghana, is set to host the maiden ACI Financial Markets Conference.
The conference aims to shape policy and encourage conversations on building a robust financial ecosystem.
The inaugural edition of the event, to be held in Accra Ghana, on Thursday, August 22, 2024, will include discussions on creating a dynamic and conducive financial ecosystem that fosters innovation-driven growth.
The evolution of the global financial sector over the years has introduced risks and challenges, which necessitates sustainable regulatory frameworks to ensure security, compliance and consumer protection.
As emerging technologies like artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the likes continue to influence the space, regulation remains key in balancing innovation with sustainability.
In a presser to shed more light on the upcoming conference, president of ACI Ghana Financial Markets, Lawrence Osilaja Boampong, emphasized the need for collaborations to nurture growth, especially with the advent of emerging technology. He noted that ‘technological advancements in the finance are revolutionizing traditional banking practices and expanding the reach of financial services to previously underserved populations.”
“Market dynamics, influenced by global trends and local socioeconomic factors are driving the emergence of new business models, products, and customer preferences. These forces usher Ghana's financial landscape into uncharted territories with opportunities and complex challenges for industry to navigate.” He added.
The ACI Ghana Financial Markets Conference will also seek to promote ethical excellence of professionals and explore ways to drive inclusivity and equitable access to financial services.
With panel discussions on pertinent areas such as fintech and financial inclusion, ethics in financial markets, technological dynamics and more, the conference will assemble over 500 industry players, regulatory authorities, policymakers, and distinguished speakers from Europe and across Africa.
The conference forms parts of activities by ACI Ghana, the leading national association of financial market professionals to ensure the development of Ghana's financial markets through education, ethical conduct of professionals, innovation, and inclusive growth.
