The Adomi Bridge that links Accra to the Volta Region and parts of Eastern Region, will be commissioned Saturday and open immediately to traffic.
This was disclosed by District Chief Executive of Asuagyaman, Apim Darko, during an interview with Accra-based Citi FM.
“I can confirm that work is almost complete. About last week we had a site meeting and there is every indication that they have finished with the work. They are cleaning up the place and putting finishing touches to it,” Mr Apim said.
President John Mahama is expected to commission the bridge Saturday December 19.
The famous bridge closed to traffic in March last year to allow for rehabilitation works estimated at €13 million.
