Today is the start of the African Cup Of Nations and we have two games from group A featuring the hosts Equatorial Guinea.
Equatorial Guinea – Congo – Kick Off 16:00 GMT
The hosts Equatorial Guinea go into this game against Congo looking to get their tournament off to a perfect start against the group’s weakest team.
They are under prepared for the tournament though, coach Esteban Becker was only appointed 11 days ago and they have not played competitive football in a while.
Congo are not fancied to qualify but do have the ability to cause an upset and while Equatorial Guinea will have a stadium full of home support they cannot afford to take Congo lightly.
The hosts will take the hopes of a nation onto the field with them and while they will certainly get better as the tournament progresses I believe they will just have enough to get past Congo today.
