The Black Stars of Ghana have been handed a tricky draw for the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following Tuesday's draw in Johannesburg.
Ghana was placed in Group E, alongside 2019 debutants Madagascar, 2010 hosts Angola and the Central African Republic.
The Black Stars are looking to end a 41-year wait to win the AFCON trophy since last laying their hands on the trophy in 1982. But the team will first need to secure their qualification for the main tournament which takes place in Ivory Coast next year.
In Ghana's group, they will come up against Angola, who have qualified for just one of the last four AFCONs while they also come up against Madagascar and Central African Republic.
The two top teams from Group E will secure their ticket to Cote d'Ivoire in 2023.
The qualifiers for next year's Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to kick start in June, 2022.
