African countries from this year would begin the implementation of a Free Zone policy for all inter-regional trading among nations.
This policy is formulated by Trade and Finance Ministers on the continent as a measure to improve trading among member nations and also to increase export among member nations.
This was disclosed by Trade and Industry Minister-designate, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng when answering questions at parliament's Appointments Committee during the vetting process, Monday.
According to the Former Trade Minister, government would be embarking on an aggressive export diversification programme which will enhance the country’s competitiveness in trade.
He said the One District One Factory policy by the government would be premised on this programme by the regional body in order for Ghana to benefit immensely from this programme.
According to him, this would allow the export of goods into another African country duty-free and quota-free.
He, therefore, reaffirmed the commitment of the President Akufo-Addo-led administration to empower entrepreneurs and business owners through the introduction of stimulus packages to help the growth of their businesses.
