National record holder Benjamin Azamati has booked a place in the semifinal of the men's 100m event at the ongoing African Games.
Azamati finished first in Heat 5 of the event with a time of 10.54 seconds.
Aside the former West Texas A&M athlete, Barnabas Aggerh and Ansah Sarfo also made it to the next stage of the competition.
Aggerh came second in Heat 2 with a time of 10.46 seconds while Sarfo's time of 10.34 seconds saw him make the semis as one of the best fourth-placed runners.
Hor Halutie advanced to the semi-finals of the women's category by finishing second in Heat 1 in 11.46 seconds.
Kwartemaa Benedicta finished fifth in Heat 2 of the 100-meter sprint, clocking 11.95 seconds.
Mary Boakye joins the two as well in progressing to the next round.
The semis start later on Monday, March 18, at 16:50 GMT.
