After serving as a collaborator and showcasing his infectious vocals on ‘Unconditional Love’, a single on 'Boko A Ko' - an album curated by The Saltpond City Band, Roy X Taylor has finally released his new song dubbed "Banger".
The originality of Roy's sound coupled with his perfect taste of music makes him extraordinary in his field as a musician.
Indeed, he voiced out the truth when he affirmed that he’s ready to take over the Ghana Music industry, particularly when it comes to Highlife.
A 6-track Extended Play (EP) dubbed "Taylor Made” was released in 2021 by Roy which had songs like "Money", "Love and Death II" and "Palava".
One of the songs off the EP entitled "Christ “scored him multiple nominations in 2021 including 3Music Awards (Highlife Song of the Year), Ghana Music Awards (Unsung), Ghana Music Awards France (Unsung).
Meanwhile, 2020 VGMA Artiste of the Year, Kuami Eugene also endorsed the song as one of the best Ghanaian Highlife songs of all time.
Possessing the qualities of a good songwriter, Roy's lyrical content in "Banger" is direct, purposeful and relatable.
The award-winning musician is known in real life as Deroy Ekow Taylor (aka Jimmy). His endearment for music started from a young age with legendary Ghanaian guitarist and musician, Ebo Taylor.
