Captain of the Black Stars 1982 Africa Cup of Nations winning team Emmanuel Quarshie has indicated that, he has been given a clean bill of health by doctors following treatment of Parkinson disease and throat cancer in Egypt.
Emmanuel Quarshie returned from Cairo on Monday where he spent almost a month treating the deadly disease that rendered him inactive for many months to the point he abandoned his coaching career in the premier league.
Quarshie’s trip to Egypt and medical expenses were catered for by his former club Zamalek, a side he helped to win a first African club championship title in 1984.
The legendary play maker who starred for Sekondi Hasaacas too is believed to have recovered well after the treatment according to his aid Justice Boison.
“I must say the trip was successful and now there has been some improvement because he can eat and move the tongue so we are confident that when he takes his medication, he will recover fully”. Said Boison
Emmanuel Quarshie will monitor his progress in the coming days to see if he can return to active coaching. He has already guided sides like Hasaacas, Berekum Arsenals and few others in the Ghana premier league.
