A retired Warrant Officer class 2 (WO2), Abraham Dodoo was over the weekend outdoored at a colorful traditional ceremony as the new head of family for Ajumako Kpono Family of Ngleshie Amanfro at the Nii Kwarshie Gborlor family House at Amanfro in Accra.
The new family head, with the name Ataa Otoo Dodoo replaced the late Nii Armah Attoh who died some few years ago.
He presented a sheep, two bottles of schnapps, two crates of beer and Guinness each, soft drinks, a bottle of whisky, full piece of white cloth and an undisclosed amount of money as demanded by custom.
Ataa Otoo Dodoo successfully swore allegiance to his overlord, the Chief of Ngleshie Amanfro, Nii Kwarshie Gborlor IV during the historic ceremony.
Several men and women, the youth, businessmen, clergy among others, clad in white clothes converged at the Ngleshie Amanfro stool house to witness the memorable inauguration of the family head.
In his succinct address at the event, Chief of Ngleshie Amanfro, Nii Kwarshie Gborlor IV praised Ataa Otoo Dodoo for playing vital role in the development of the community.
He urged him to work diligently to ensure the progress of the family, Ngleshie Amanfro and for that matter, Ghana.
He asked the new head of family to seek for wisdom and knowledge and money to enable him to reign successfully and encouraged him to ensure that he leaves a lasting legacy at the end of his stewardship.
Nii Gborlor said he was confident that Ataa Otoo Dodoo, who has a spectacular track-record as a soldier, would live up to expectation, calling for total support for the new head of family.
Later in an interview with the media, Ataa Otoo Dodoo promised to support the developmental agenda of Nii Kwarshie Gborlor IV in the areas of education, environment and health, just to mention a few.
The new head of family, thanked the Chief and the elders for the honour done him, calling on the people to support him to contribute his quota in positively transforming Ngleshie Amanfro.
Present at the ceremony included all the seven family Heads of Ngleshie Amanfro; also in attendance were the Amanfro Mankralo, Nii Kwashie Armah IV, Amanfro Oshipi, Nii Armah Tswetwega IV, Nii Dzaase, Nii Kweku BotweIV, Akramana family head, Nii Armah Okine, Nii Kofi Dodoo, Nii Osane Mensah, Nii Okyeame Odartey, and the secretary Nana Kwesi Ofori , etc.
