President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has joined the world to condemn Wednesday's attack on UK’s Parliament.

The President in a tweet Thursday said the attack was a reminder of the dark cloud of terrorism that hangs over the world.

“I join the rest of the world in condemning the London terror attack, and sympathise with the families of the dead and wounded,” President Akufo-Addo said.

Four people lost their lives in a Wednesday attack in London after a man drove a car along a pavement in Westminster knocking down pedestrians and leaving dozens injured.

The attacker stabbed and killed a policeman and was shot dead by the police in the grounds of London’s Parliament.

Those who died include a woman in her 40s, a man in his 50s, a police officer P.C Keith Palmer and the attacker.

Also, 29 others who sustained varying degrees of injury have been treated in hospital.

Seven people have been arrested in connection with the attack.

UK Prime Minister, Theresa May, has condemned the attack, describing it as an attack on freedom.

“The terrorists chose to strike at the heart of our capital city, where people of all nationalities, religions and cultures come together to celebrate the values of liberty, democracy and freedom of speech.”

Other world leaders have also added their voices to the condemnation.

President Akufo-Addo said the London attack imposes on all governments and citizens in the world the task of combating “this scourge.”

He said his thoughts are with the families of the deceased as well as the people who reside in London.
