The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party has described as false, a publication by the Herald newspaper suggesting that Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP are “desperately littering the country with fresh giant billboards in anticipation of victory from the Supreme Court.”
A statement signed by Herbert Krapa, Press Secretary to Nana Akufo-Addo said: "That is a total lie. These billboards were erected by the NPP campaign during the 2012 electioneering campaign period. It is also not true that many more are going to be mounted ahead of the Supreme Court verdict as reported".
According to the Monday August 5,2013 of publication, “the Herald scouts” have uncovered the springing up of giant billboards of Nana Akufo-Addo with the inscription “The Battle is the Lord’s” with bible quotation; 1 Samuel 17:47 which reads; ‘’All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.
" Just as these billboards from the NPP’s 2012 Campaign are still up, there are other billboards of other candidates who contested the December 2012 elections, including those of the President still out there from 2012.
We will neither ask for an apology nor retraction from a paper situated deep in the partisan stable of the ruling party and dedicated to publishing false stories on our 2012 presidential candidate. We will rather appeal to the general public to, once again, ignore this false story for what it is - an unworthy story".
