Research and Advocacy Platform (RAP), a pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) assemblage, Monday urged New Patriotic Party (NPP), presidential candidate Nana Akufo Addo to disclose reasons why he quit Oxford University in 1963.
Convener for RAP, Felix Kwakye-Ofosu at a press conference in Accra said, the group had established through official contact with the UK University that Nana Akufo Addo had indeed enrolled in the institution to read Philosophy and Political Science, but left the school without completing his course for unclear reasons.
Kwakye-Ofosu said the group’s motive was not to impugn the image of the NPP presidential candidate, but that the concealment of that information deprived Ghanaians of the opportunity to have as much information required shaping their opinions on those who seek to occupy such high offices of the land.
He said RAP had made some findings and was still seeking more information on the issue, adding that it was only fair to allow Nana Akufo Addo a certain time frame to disclose to Ghanaians why he left the Oxford University, otherwise the group would bare the facts on the issue.
RAP last week at a press conference said the failure of Nana Akufo Addo to include his Oxford University education in his Curriculum Vitae (CV) called his integrity into question.
The group said the NPP presidential candidate should disclose every vital detail about his education if he truly wanted to lead the country.
