Anthony Annan has resolved to help Ghana win the Africa Cup of Nations in honor of his mother, Madam Sophia Sampson, who passed away on Thursday.The mother of the Ghana international died in a hospital in Cape Coast, Ghana, after falling sick earlier in the day.Annan has expressed gratitude for the loads of messages and encouragement that have poured from colleagues and other well-wishers following the passing of his mother.He told www.ghanafa.org: “I am saddened by the death of my mother but I am still focused and committed to going out there to play for my nation and help win the Africa Cup of Nations title. Winning the title would serve as a big honour in memory of my mother.”The news stunned the entire Black Stars team in Franceville, with many consoling the midfielder.
