Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan scored in Rosenborg's 4-3 win against Start Kristiansand in the quarter-final match of the 'The Cup', Norway's oldest football tournament on Saturday.
The Ghanaian found his name on the scoring sheet, scoring in the 49th minute against his former club at the Lerkendal Stadium.
Though he rarely scores, Annan was surprised when the ball touched the back of the net.
"I thought that was not true. I had to check twice before I was sure that the ball was in goal," Annan said. "And I did not know how I should celebrate, so I just ran across the mat."
But Annan failed to finish the game after he was sent off six minutes later after receiving a second yellow card and he would miss the semi-final of the competition.
The competition has been contested since 1902.
