The Supreme Court has adjourned all cases scheduled for hearing this week over fears of the coronavirus disease.
Sources tell Joy News that some judges of the apex court have tested positive for Covid-19 and have subsequently gone into self-isolation.
The adjournment comes as a measure to reduce the number of infections at the apex court.
According to the sources, hearing for all 16 cases which were expected to have started last week have all been postponed.
Joy News learned that all nine cases expected to be heard from Tuesday to Thursday have been suspended.
The court has, however, designated some courts to attend to crucial cases resulting from the breach of Covid-19 restrictions.
In a related development, the Chief Justice Anin Yeboah is said to start 14-day isolation upon the advice of his doctors in compliance with Covid-19 protocols.
He will be working from his Cantonment residence, a communique from his office, Wednesday said.
Meanwhile, the Judicial Service starts its Legal Vacation from August 1, 2020, and resume in October 2020.
