Army worms have invaded Kunkwa, a village in the West Mamprusi District in the Northern Region, making life unbearable for residents.
Assemblyman for the area, Howard Annkpieng told Joy News Television that the situation is making live uncomfortable for residents in the area.
The worms temper with uncovered food and water and infect it.
Mr. Annkpieng said many of his residents are already showing signs of an outbreak and therefore called for urgent assistance to curtail a possible epidemic.
Meanwhile, the District Veterinary Officer has confirmed the presence of the worms in the area.
Army worms have since the beginning of the year attacked farms and other agricultural set ups, causing massive destruction in the Volta, Greater Accra and Central Regions.
Vice President John Mahama has visited the Volta Region to acquaint himself with extent of destruction there.
