Arnold Schwarzenegger has teamed up with TikTok to help feed families who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
TikTok has donated $3 million to Schwarzenegger’s foundation After-School All-Stars, which raises money for afterschool programs for kids.
“Because of the corona crisis, those kids have been sent home so now instead of providing after school programs we thought it would be cool and great if we could provide food for those families,” the former governor of California, 72, said in a TikTok video on Thursday.
“But, of course, you can have the best ideas in the world but if you don’t have the money you have nothing…So TikTok came along and said we are the ones that are going to donate the millions of dollars to help feed those families.”
The foundation’s team will help by delivering food and gift cards for groceries to families in need in 60 cities across the country, including highly impacted areas like New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Miami.
After-School All-Stars has partnered with local grocery providers including Food Land, Giant, Kroger, Publix, Ralphs, Safeway, Target, and Walmart in order to supply the food vouchers.
