Art enthusiasts gathered at the Noldor Residence to witness "A Thatch of Ochres," a solo exhibition by Michael Jackson Blebo.
The exhibition, led by the 2021 Absa L'Atelier Ambassador, delved into the subconscious, presenting a post-Wakandan utopia where signs and symbols became critical forms of expression.
Central to the exhibition which opened on July 12 was the innovative multidisciplinary installation titled "Space Travel."
This piece redefined the anthill as the "adakadan," serving as a time capsule that symbolizes the evolving aesthetics of identity.

The installation depicted a moving colony of thoughts, actions, and convictions, reflecting the migration of creative aspirations.
Through intricate symbolism and ritual forms, "Space Travel" invited viewers to explore the layers of shared histories and contemporary practices.
It highlighted the interconnectedness of self-identity, culture, and community, encouraging visitors to reflect on their own stories and interpretations of myths and beliefs.

Speaking to JoyNews, the artist urged creatives to stay determined and work their way through by trusting the process.
"It is through the process that you find yourself. I always try to encourage people to trust the process," the Ada-based artiste told Kenneth Awotwe Darko.
The exhibition's exploration of the self and the collective inspired attendees to engage with the complex tapestry of identity, creating a profound and thought-provoking experience.

Mr Blebo is known for his fluid drawings and dramatic textural manipulations, which were prominently featured in this captivating showcase.
