During President Akufo-Addo’s three-day tour of the Ashanti Region, he was warmly received by the Paramount Chiefs and Queenmothers, who affectionately named him their "Precious President."
The traditional leaders expressed their gratitude for the President's efforts, recognising his contributions to the region throughout his tenure.
The chiefs and queenmothers highlighted that the Ashanti Region has received a fair share of development and resources under Akufo-Addo’s leadership.
They praised the President for ensuring that the region benefitted significantly from various national projects and initiatives.
The traditional leaders emphasised that these efforts have contributed to the progress of the region and improved the lives of its people.
"'Nana, you have done a lot. Nana, you have done well.' Your contribution to education is unparalleled. The number of children who have had the chance to get secondary education. How can we forget. We know that it's constitutional for you to leave, otherwise we would have wanted you to stay in office."
"Let's talk about roads. The long travel distances that we would travel have been cut short. Otherwise, the body pains we experienced were tough."
"We thank you for 18 hospitals out of which you have completed some and you have been commissioning already and people are already in it working," the one of the chiefs said.
On Tuesday, 26th November, President Akufo-Addo responded by extending his heartfelt appreciation to the traditional leaders.
He acknowledged their ongoing support and partnership, noting the important role they have played in the success of his administration.
The President also highlighted the valuable contributions of his appointees from the Ashanti Region, recognising their dedication and hard work in serving the nation.
The chiefs and queenmothers commended the President for the strategic appointments of individuals from the Ashanti Region to key positions in his government.
They spoke highly of the accomplishments of these appointees, crediting their work for furthering the development of Asanteman.
