Always Seek Knowledge (ASK) Network, an entrepreneur - building organization created within Royalhouse Chapel International (RCI), has awarded “Team Initiate”, an Agriculture Startup Company with seed capital for winning the inaugural Entrepreneurship Challenge.
The award was announced after a well subscribed two-day Job Fair, that was organized by ASK Network, as part of RCI’s World Movers Generation (WMG) annual Movers & Shakers Conference; it gathered over 7000 Christian youth at the University of Ghana last weekend.
The Entrepreneurship Challenge received hundreds of startup applications after which the top 5 made their presentation to a panel of judges, namely: Kojo Hastings, Chairman, Genelec Holdings Limited; Rosy Fynn, Marketing Director, Airtel Ghana; Cecilia Dei-Anang, CEO of Imago-Connect Limited; Sophia Antonio, Financial Director, La Palm Royal Beach Hotel; Albert Kusi, CEO, LEC Foundation and John Apea, Regional Director, Commonwealth Office, Africa.
Team Initiate, a startup Chilli Pepper Farm Company, emerged as winners of the Entrepreneurship Challenge, after a grueling two hours of questions from the Judges.
They were awarded GHc10,000 as seed capital to support their business idea. Second to fifth place finalists were each awarded GHc2,500 as consolation prizes.
The Apostle General of RCI, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, in his closing remarks, reiterated the need to invest in the younger generation by saying: “All over the world, the youth have been seen as vestiges of despair. At Royalhouse, we believe that the youth are pillars of hope and pillars of strength for Ghana, for Africa and the world.”
Similarly, David Doku, Head of PR for ASK Network encouraged participants at the Job Fair to always seek for direction and guidance in their career choices.
He added that “our organization is empowered and adequately resourced to continue to support young people who desire to excel at whatever ventures they undertake.”
ASK Network is an entrepreneurial organization established with the primary objective of nurturing growth and promoting opportunities, economic independence and professional development amongst the younger generation.
ASK Network as part of its programmes, holds periodic ASK Talks, Entrepreneurship Challenges, Job Fairs, CV & Job Interview Workshops and Networking Functions for young people.
Companies that participated in the Job Fair included Capital Bank, MTN, Millicom Ghana, Knowledge Tree Technologies, Life Essentials, Quest Technologies, SGL Kapita, Star Life Insurance, The Commonwealth Human Rights Office, Timestamp Ghana, Universal Merchant Bank, UT Life and Zenith Hygiene.
