Al Ain striker Asamoah Gyan has been named in an 18-man Black Stars squad for Wednesday’s international friendly game against China.
This will be the first game for the returnee who took a five-month hiatus from the national side following severe public backlash over his performance at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
He announced his return to the team last month.
Coach Kwesi Appiah has also given a call-up to captain John Mensah, who just returned from the treatment room after an injury at the continental showpiece.
The roster consists of four senior debut call-ups - Stromsgodset defender Abdul Razak Nuhu, Frank Acheampong of Buriram United, Juventus forward Richmond Boakye Yiadom and SuperSport United's Edwin Gyimah.
The test match is taking place at Xi'an, Shaanxi province on August 15.
