President of the Nationwide Supporters Union, Aziz Haruna Futah has indicated that, the absence of the support groups from Gabon will cost the Black stars the title.
About 27 different support groups are struggling to raise the needed funding to travel to Gabon to support the Black Stars and attempts to access government support has failed with deputy Sports minister Nii Nortey Duah explaining to JOY Sports no supporter union will be supported financially to travel to Gabon.
Aziz Haruna Futah told Joy Sports, Ghana can only win the title if there is a huge presence of supporters for the team at the tournament.
“Without the supporters there is no way the black stars can win the tournament”. Said Aziz Futah
“What we do at the stadia is very important since it intimidates our opponents”.
In a related development the leader of the National Supporters Union Abraham Boakye popularly known as “one man” supporter believes the various support groups need to unite to be effective like their Nigerian counterparts.
