Reports from the Bantama constituency say a woman suspected to be a senior electoral officer has stopped the declaration of results in that constituency.
Wearing a special yellow EC branded shirt, the woman whose name was not given allegedly stopped the process at a point where collation had been completed.
According to the reports, just as all the 59 polling centres had been collated and the results of the special voting expected to be added, she appeared from nowhere and started behaving funny.
She later asked party agents, journalists and other people to go and come for the final results on Monday.
The act, the reports said, incurred the displeasure of many.
The development is worrying for observers.
According to Joy News’ Yaw Ansu-Gyeaboa, collation of results in the Bekwai constituency has also been halted.
He said the presiding officers complained of tiredness and some were sleeping.
