President Akufo-Addo has described Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, as a hardworking and honest man with good policies to enhance Ghana’s Development.
He said, Dr Bawumia over the last 16 years had proven to be selfless, committed and faultless in all his political and administrative endeavours.
President Akufo-Addo said, “We can entrust Ghana into his hands…he is well prepared after eight years as Vice President”.
The President was addressing the Chiefs and people of the Western Region during a thank-you visit hosted at the GNAT Hall in Fijai in the Western Region.
He was grateful to the people of the Region for their continual support and help during his tenure.
The President told the crowd, “I am here to officially bid you farewell in line with the constitutional provision of our country which offers every President a two-term offer…it is noteworthy to come round and say thank you for helping me to govern and entrenching the Peace of our country”.
President Akufo-Addo narrated that he had fulfilled 80 per cent of promises under his tenure with over 5.7 million Ghanaian children having access to secondary education with quality passes in WASSCE, adding, these are our future.
He said the investment in education was to prepare the Ghanaian to effectively take part in the 21st-century activities that would spur more economic growth and holistic development…We are creating a workforce to propel industrial growth”.
The President mentioned that the Region had benefitted from some 758 kilometres of additional road network, increase in cocoa producer price, agenda 111 hospital projects, market Redevelopment and the Interchange project, among others.
